The Varina and 5 o'clock tea

“The Varina and the 5 o’clock tea” – Georgina is part of a cast of five + 1 (guest) Varina teapots, a character in the form of an object. The design emerges from an artistic collaboration with Storytailors, a piece paying tribute to one of the most iconic traditional figures of the city of Lisbon and of Portugal: the Varina. The pieces are manufactured in fine stoneware, dipped in translucent colored glazes and manually unglazed, following the traditional rubber-resist technique. They are dishwasher and microwave safe.
The 1st series of this special edition of the “The Varina and the 5 o’clock tea” piece, limited to 250 copies per character, was part of the exhibition – Varinas of Lisbon, at the Museum of Lisbon – Palácio Pimenta.

Packaging
The box is made of micro-fluted cardboard and wrapped in a paper sleeve, which contains an illustration and a summary of the text “The Varina and the 5 o’clock tea”. It tells the story of five varinas whose outfits are inspired by the colors of the city of Lisbon and the tea tradition. Translated into Portuguese and English.
